Join the CCO Boot Camp subgroup on LinkedIn to be an official participant for the chance to win CCO gear and other prizes.
This week’s challenges are added bonus points that you can earn by adding the finishing touches to your newly developed LinkedIn profile. Last week’s bonus points included joining groups and following companies, see this week’s below.
1. Industry – Don’t forget to mark an industry on your profile. Not only will this help your profile viewers know what you are interested in for professional development, but it will also allow you to connect with professionals in those industries. If you are interested in a different industry than your major or concentration in school, be sure to mark the industry you are interested in working in.
2. Activity – It’s important to stay up-to-date on what is going on in the social realm. Keep an eye on your activity feed to see what your connections are posting about. It’s also important for you to keep up activity and post interesting and relevant stories to your field, industry, or passions.
If you would like the CCO staff to review your profile after you have completed the challenges, please send an invitation to connect to Claudine Meilink (www.linkedin.com/in/claudinemeilink) and Rachel Bayless (www.linkedin.com/in/rachelbayless) by April 24.
Make sure that your invitation is appropriate, with a personalized message stating that you would like the CCO to evaluate your profile and give you feedback. Only those sending personalized invitations will be considered for prizes. If you are already connected, please send Rachel and Claudine a message that you would like your profile reviewed.
If you are still having trouble with your profile don’t forget to stop by the Purdue CCO office in YONG 132 from Monday through Friday, 10am-4pm for assistance.
*Editor’s note: Since this blog’s publication, the CCO has moved to Young Hall 132*
