A Year in Review for the CCO

It’s been an outstanding year for the CCO, resulting in many awards and recognitions. As the year comes to an end and we prepare for another great year, we would like to highlight some of the exciting feats made by our staff as well as some impressive rankings and statistics that were only made possible by our student body.

If you didn’t already see the infographic featuring some of these statistics to begin the year, here it is again. The CCO was ranked 3rd Best Career Services in the nation by College Magazine, specifically citing website design, an online internship/job portal, and the Career Closet as stand out features.

On top of these statistics, Purdue CCO received the Gold Level Career Center Certification from Out for Work, which recognizes the work we do to support LGBTQ students.  We were also ranked 29th for colleges with impressive job placement rates and career services and received the 2015 Service to International Students Award from the National Career Development Association. Our website also received props when we were selected as one of the five most interesting career center websites by the National Association of Colleges and Employers.

Additionally, the following awards were given to members of our staff throughout the year.

  • Evan Langbehn- nominated for Intern of the Year by IndianaIntern.net
  • Tamara Clarkson-nominated for Career Development Professional of the Year by IndianaIntern.net
  • Darshini Render- awarded Outstanding New Professional Career Development Professionals of Indiana

We would like to congratulate these staff members, as well as all members of the CCO and the Purdue student body for continuing to strive for success. We look forward to another record-breaking school year in the fall!
